Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan Yojana) is a government of India-initiated scheme that aims to provide minimum income support of up to Rs. 6000 to all small and marginal farmers per year. The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of all landholding farmers’ families by procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income as well as for domestic needs. Under the scheme an amount of ₹ 6000/- per year is released by the Central Government online directly into the bank accounts of the eligible farmers under Direct Benefit Transfer mode, subject to certain exclusions.

Application Process
Online registration is the preferred method and can be done through the official PM-Kisan website.
- Step 1: Visit the PM-Kisan website.
- Step 2: Click on “New Farmer Registration” under the “Farmers Corner” section.
- Step 3: Enter your mobile number and captcha code, then click on “Get OTP”.
- Step 4: Enter the OTP (that was sent to your registered mobile number) and click on “Submit OTP”.
- Step 5: Fill out the online application form with details like name, address, Aadhaar number, bank account details, and landholding information.
- Step 6: Upload scanned copies of the required documents (Aadhaar card, land ownership documents, and bank account details).
- Step 7: Review the application details and submit it online.

With the view of digitising this process, the government has made it mandatory for farmers under this scheme to get e-KYC done. You need to submit their Aadhaar and phone details while initiating the e-KYC process. You can complete the e-KYC process on the PM Kisan portal:

- Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option
- Enter your Aadhaar number
- Click on the ‘Search’ button
- Enter the OTP to verify your details
- Once done, click on the ‘Submit OTP’ button
